Joan Blondell always added some sass to Warners' movies -- and never more so than when she mixed it up with James Cagney, giving every bit as good as she got! The PFA will be devoting a program to this worthy co-star, who, in her own words, added "the fizz on the soda."

Of special note, the programs on June 13 (Blonde Crazy (with Cagney), and Night Nurse (with Barbara Stanwyck)) and 15 (Footlight Parade (with Cagney), climaxing in three looney Busby Berkeley musical numbers, including the classics "By a Waterfall," and "Shanghai Lil"). All three are pre-Code, and anything but staid.
